Photoshop: Quick sun tutorial by Retrohelix Photoshop: Quick sun tutorial by Retrohelix
I made this tutorial for people who are beginning to use photoshop, if you're a know-all ps savvy then this is not for you.

I made this in Photoshop 7, I have checked and the process seems to be the same up to Photoshop CS4.

It appears it also works for GIMP (thanks to Excalibur-T005 for pointing that out), although the options seem to be a tad different, I'll check into that and possibly edit the tutorial later.

*****Please note that Photoshop Elements doesn't have a Color Balance box, so there are 2 things you can do:

- Adjust Hue/Saturation (Enhance > Adjust Color > Adjust Hue/Saturation)

- Color Variations (Enhance > Adjust Color > Color Variations)

I'm not sure Color Variations will be of any help but give it a try if you don't like the result from Hue/Saturation.

If you like this please :+fav: it.

It may be quick but it worked wonders for a piece I'm finishing. Thanks for this :D

I'm glad it worked for you, it's a really cheap way to make a sun, but it's alright when you don't want to deal with it.

I agree. Sometimes the most simple solution works best.

Don't worry about it, I checked the comic page you mention and it looks like you might have gone a little overboard, but it's easy to fix, just make the flare smaller ;)
